Fibre & care
Baby alpaca comes from a first shearing only. It is lanolin-free and hypoallergenic, and the hollow fibre insulates in the cold and breathes in heat.
yak down is hand-combed from the animal once a year by Mongolian herders, then spun dye-free at 14–17 microns, finer than most cashmere.
Care: wash cold on a gentle cycle or by hand. No dryer. Dry flat. Air between wears; the fibre is naturally odour-resistant, so it needs washing far less often than cotton.
